Inspect the motor side detector connectors on the drive unit (CN2) and on the motor side. Disconnect and securely reconnect them by hand to ensure they are not loose.
Turn OFF the main circuit and control power. Verify the CHARGE lamp is completely off. Use a multimeter to test the detector cable for continuity and short circuits. If a connection fault or broken wire is found, replace the detector cable.
Inspect the detector's ambient environment for severe electrical noise or high temperature. Improve cooling if the temperature exceeds 55°C, and ensure the system is properly grounded at a single point (PE terminal) to prevent data errors caused by ground loops.
To isolate the fault, connect the motor side detector to another known-good axis drive unit of the same capacity. If the alarm remains on the original drive unit, its input circuit is defective; replace the MDS-C drive unit.
If the alarm follows the detector or persists after all checks, the serial pulse encoder connected to the motor end is permanently defective. Replace the detector (or motor), re-establish the zero point if it is an absolute position system, and contact authorized Mitsubishi service.
