Measure the input voltage during machine operations with a multimeter. If the voltage fluctuates widely during operation, increase the facility's power capacity (kVA).
Check the load inertia, such as the workpiece weight. If the load inertia is excessive, lower the load inertia or extend the rapid traverse time constant for G0/G1 to reduce sudden power draws.
Visually inspect the cooling fan of the drive unit. If the fan is stopped or rotating abnormally, replace the cooling fan.
Measure the ambient temperature of the drive unit during operation. If the ambient temperature exceeds the specified value, improve the power distribution panel cooling systems to correct the ambient temperature.
If the input voltage is stable, the load inertia is correct, the fan operates normally, and the temperature is within specifications but the alarm persists, replace the MDS-E drive unit.
