Inspect the machine for mechanical collision, heavy binding, or jammed slides. If the machine is physically locked or experiencing abnormally high mechanical resistance, remove the mechanical obstruction.
Monitor the position droop on the NC Servo Monitor screen during rapid traverse or cutting feed. If the droop becomes excessive during acceleration or deceleration, increase the acceleration/deceleration time constant in the NC parameters.
Check the position loop gain (Servo: SV003 PGN1, Spindle: SP001 PGV / SP002 PGN) and speed loop gain (Servo: SV005 VGN1, Spindle: SP005 VGN1). If the gains are set too low causing poor tracking ability, adjust them to the standard values.
Inspect the motor power cable (U, V, W phases) connections at the drive unit and motor. If any phase is loose, disconnected, or shorted, securely tighten the terminals or replace the cable.
Check the encoder feedback cable and connector for secure connection and proper shielding. If the cable is damaged or electromagnetic noise is disrupting the feedback, replace the cable and separate it from power lines.
If parameters, mechanical load, tuning gains, and cables are normal but the Excessive Error 1 alarm persists, the drive unit or motor is faulty. Replace the MDS-E drive unit.
